Summary:
The Cloud Software Architect reports to the Senior Director of Energy Management Systems, located in Hudson, Massachusetts.
The Cloud Software Architect is part of a group of high-performing developers delivering cutting-edge systems that integrate energy storage, renewables, and associated gear to deliver reliable energy solutions to utilities and industrial customers.
This role is required to architect, implement, and troubleshoot ABS StorView Cloud application suite.
This Cloud platform will permit data warehousing, visualization, analysis, and management of data from American Battery Solutions Energy Storage System (ABS ESS) customer assets.
The position requires an overall system perspective and cross-functional input and experience.
Responsibilities:
Primary architect of the Cloud Platform on AWS or other Cloud services.
Liaise between the Energy Management Systems (EMS) team and Contract Services Firm(s) that are providing staffing to design and implement the solution.
Define system, unit test, and software/hardware integration requirements.
Participate in the development of software architecture, development guidelines, and best practices.
Conduct technical reviews of software designs, identifying potential issues and providing recommendations for improvements.
Provide expert level guidance on Cloud design decisions, standards, and operational practices.
Leads technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
Operate within the EMS teams' Product Development Process, which includes the use of Agile methodologies and tools, with eventual adoption of IEC61508 compliance standards for Software Systems.
Provide content for documentation efforts for all Cloud Services.
Produce designs which include component diagrams, sequence diagrams, technology choices, API specs, Database schemas.
Research opportunities to capitalize on technological advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends.
Organizational due diligence to ensure proper design margin and best practices.
Adhere to federal and state regulations.
Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Position
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent degree.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience Cloud Services delivery.
Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in software design, implementation, and testing of Cloud-based services.
Extensive experience in Linux software with a strong C software development background.
Experienced in Bash, Make, and similar build tools.
Proficient in Build Automation, Git, and Jira.
Bitbucket, GitHub, and/or Gitlab experience preferred.
Research and Development industry experience preferred.
Self-starter, with a record of success delivering quality products.
Self-motivated problem solver who pays attention to the details.
Passion for agile software development, continuous deployment and working with Global teams.
